Leadership Opprotunities

Developing Leadership

Boy Scouts is also about learning valuable leadership skills. Not only that, our troop also helps develop communications and people skills. We accomplish this by giving scouts a variety of options to be leaders. Signing up for a troop job allows scouts to practice maintaining responsibility and their duties for a full 6 month time period. SIC (Scout in Charge) jobs allow scouts to test their leadership skills by having them plan and execute an event from scratch. At a smaller scale, scouts can also sign up to be MCs for campfire or scout's own during a campout. Best part of all, a scout can sign up for all three of these jobs to maximize their leadership development.

MC Jobs

Campfire MC

As a campfire MC, you are in charge of running the campfire program. This can include skits from various patrols, programs from parents, and games that the whole troop can participate in.

Scout's Own MC

As Scout's Own MC, you are in charge of running the Scout's Own program the second day of a campout. You would read a few moral stories out for the troop and initiate "Roses and Thorns".
